The Wells Conservation Commission meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM at the Wells Town Hall.

Springtime in the Commons

It is springtime in the Fenderson Wildlife Commons and the forest is buzzing with life. The snow has melted, making way for new plant growth. The deciduous trees that have been lying dormant for the winter are beginning to form buds for new leaves.

Like the trees, many animals are also waking up from a winter of hibernation. Some of these animals include chipmunks and bears. Birds such as black-capped chickadees, woodpeckers and Baltimore orioles are returning to the area.

If you would like more information about the different plant and animal species found in the Wildlife Commons, please view the management plan on the Fenderson Wildlife Commons page.
